Kim Hagen, LISW
Licensed Independent Social Worker
CEO/Therapist

Kim believes that mental wellness can be achieved through connecting with others in our families, peer groups, workplaces, schools, and communities. She focuses on meeting her clients where they are and utilizes a variety of safe, non-judgmental therapeutic approaches to inspire growth and change.

Kim attended the University of Iowa where she received both her Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees. She has been a mental health therapist since graduating in 2006. Kim is a licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Iowa.

Much of Kim’s experience has been in community mental health where she has supported clients with a wide array of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, attention issues, behavioral problems, mood disorders, and trauma. She offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy to clients ages five and up. She has provided school-based therapy in several districts and takes an approach of working closely with counselors, teachers, and administrators to improve on the growing mental health needs of students. Kim is Certified in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) through Think:Kids, which allows her to facilitate CPS Parent/Caregiver Classes and support implementation through coaching.

When not working, Kim spends the majority of her time with her family. She enjoys watching her kids perform in their various activities, going on bike rides, and sitting on her deck. If she is able to find time for herself, Kim prefers to clean (great stress reliever), make her yard look nice, and watch true crime documentaries

Kim currently provides virtual individual and family therapy to Iowa residents ages 5 and up. Teletherapy is web-based and can be easily accessed from your home through a computer, smartphone, or tablet. Video conferencing platform is HIPAA-compliant and does not require any downloads. Matt Cretsinger
Chief Operating Officer
Wellness Connection of Iowa

Matt has over 25 years of experience supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral health needs of youth and over 20 years of working with youth with disabilities.

Matt believes that everyone is doing the best they can. Unfortunately, there are times when everyone struggles to manage their emotions in socially acceptable ways. Through the Collaborative Problem Solving® approach, parents, adults, and youth can learn how to identify the skills they need to handle problems before they happen. The approach gives both the adults and the youth voice and choice in working together to solve problems durably.

Matt has a Master’s degree and a Specialist degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He also holds a Master’s degree and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simpson College. He is an inaugural graduate of the Collaborative for Academic & Social Emotional Learning (CASEL) Fellows Academy and holds certification in the Collaborative Problem Solving® approach.

Matt has worked in both the mental health and educational fields. He was previously a Program Director and Mental Health Therapist before moving into education. Since 2012, he has served as the Director of Special Services for the Marshalltown Community School District. Other educational roles have included Team Leader for Behavioral Support, Program Assistant for Special Education, and School Psychologist for Heartland Area Education Agency. Matt serves on several professional organizations including the Iowa Dyslexia Board. He has taught previously as an Adjunct Instructor at Drake University and Upper Iowa University, where he received the UIU Excellence In Teaching Award twice.

When Matt is not working, he likes to spend time with his family, ride his bike, and go to the movies.
